The handbag and jelly sandal duo that joined forces earlier this summer, just announced the launch of a third drop as part of the coveted Telfar x Melissa “Telly Jelly” collection. The latest drop, announced this morning (August 9) by Telfar and Melissa, includes the designers’ signature shopper bags and Jelly sandals, now in two new colorways: black and brown.
The drop also includes a restock of the pink and clear styles that quickly sold out as soon as they were released earlier this summer.
True to the collection’s ethereal visual branding, the latest announcement featured models rising from a reflective pool of water. The models are holding Telfar bags, and not-so-subtly match the colorways of the latest drop, with one model appearing otherworldly pink, and two models in a monochromatic brown.
Telfar, a Black-owned and genderless brand has raised a cult following, with its signature shopper bag and accessories selling out almost immediately after being released. It’s no surprise that social media users were just as quick to respond, especially as Telfar x Melissa dropped its second colorway collection of electric pink slides and shopper bags a little over a week ago.
Like the first two drops, this latest collection offers the trademark Telfar shopping bag in PVC plastic material: small ($150), medium ($200), and large ($250), and a pair of matching jelly slides ($100). The bags and the shoes are water-resistant, made with Melissa’s exclusive Melflex material.
Melissa is a Brazilian footwear brand that holds the title of one of the largest footwear producers in the world. The brand is committed to sustainable production and ethical fashion and prides itself on 100 percent recyclable products made in a zero-waste facility with renewable energy. The brand is also a veteran collaborator, including mash-up collections with Jean Paul Gaultier, Thierry Mugler, and most recently, Marc Jacobs.
The latest “Telly Jelly” drop is set to be released on Monday, August 14 at 12 PM EST. They will be available for purchase on telfar.net.
