JD Pardo has signed a new deal with FX, the same network behind his former series Mayans M.C., which wrapped its fifth and final season this past summer. According to Deadline, the deal means Pardo will help develop new TV programming for the cable channel.

“I thank God for this blessing,” Pardo wrote on Instagram on Monday (December 11). “As a teen, I used to sit under our street sign “Lullaby Lane” in Panorama City at night and imagine having a production company. This dream is now a reality.”

Pardo, whose roots are from Argentina and El Salvador, went on to thank John Landgraf, Chairman of FX Networks; Kurt Sutter and Elgin James, co-creators of Mayans M.C.; and his entire team.

Fellow actors congratulated Pardo on Instagram when he announced the news, including Mayans M.C. costars Emilio Rivera and Sarah Bolger.

On Mayans M.C., Pardo played Ezekiel “EZ” Reyes, a prospect in the motorcycle club who would later become its president. In the series finale, EZ is ambushed and stabbed to death by his own club who accuse him of being a rat.

Along with his starring role on Mayans M.C., Pardo also produced 20 episodes of the show and directed one. “Directing has been a place, I feel, I was always destined to go,” Pardo told Variety at the time.

Earlier this year, JD Pardo was seen in Robert Rodriguez’s new film, Hypnotic, alongside Ben Affleck. He will next be seen in the remake of the 1989 movie, Road House, starring Jake Gyllenhaal.
