Chicano Batman is springing into action this year with a new album and tour. Today (Jan. 23), the Latine alternative group revealed the U.S. dates for their 2024 world tour and released a music video for the song “Fly.”
Throughout their career, Chicano Batman has pushed the limits of Latine music while rocking with genres from across the diaspora. The band has always embodied the message of freedom in their songs while not being afraid to get political. Now Chicano Batman is spreading its wings with the song “Fly.” The feel-good track was helmed by Grammy-winning producer John Congleton, who also worked on most of the band’s upcoming album Notebook Fantasy.
“‘Fly’ is a song that you hope for as a songwriter,” Chicano Batman shared in a statement. “Lighting in a bottle, straight up! It’s the kind that comes organically from the universe, and if you get out of the way, it takes shape effortlessly into the song it needs to be. Like a river flowing and weaving seamlessly through its banks. This song’s creation process was euphoric and full of many inspired and memorable moments in the studio from beginning to end. We hope those sentiments translate to you, the listener!”
In addition to releasing a 70s-inspired music video for “Fly,” Chicano Batman announced their 2024 world tour dates. The U.S. leg will kick off on April 19 at the Brooklyn Bowl in Las Vegas, NV. Throughout April, May, and June, the guys will perform concerts in major cities across the country, including Dallas, TX; Atlanta, GA; New York, NY; Chicago, IL; and San Francisco, CA. On June 29, Chicano Batman will take the stage of the Kia Forum arena in Los Angeles, CA.
Opening acts on Chicano Batman’s tour include Colombian-Canadian singer Lido Pimienta and Mexican-American group The Red Pears, who will also perform at Coachella. Chicano Batman’s Notebook Fantasy album will be released on March 29.
