Now that the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) strike is finally over in Hollywood, the stars of Blue Beetle are coming out to share their thoughts about their experiences working on the groundbreaking superhero movie from DC.

Since Blue Beetle was released during the strike, Latine talent like Xolo Maridueña, Bruna Marquezine, George Lopez, and Harvey Guillén were unable to promote the film because of SAG policy. Nearly three months later, however, none of them have forgotten how impactful Blue Beetle was for them as actors.

“Blue Beetle is sacred to me,” Maridueña said, “from the family you see on screen to the ones I made off, this movie has tore me down and built me back up in ways I’ll never be able to articulate,” Maridueña said, to a carousel that features pictures of him with the rest of the cast, in Blue Beetle costume and out of it.

“I can finally share the love I have for [Blue Beetle],” Guillén wrote on Instagram alongside a series of photos and videos from the set. “This one has a special place in my heart. We did something special! Now everyone go watch it!”

One of the videos Guillén posted to his social media included him and Sarandon on set singing the song “Touch-A-Touch-A-Touch-A-Touch Me,” which she sang in the 1975 cult classic, The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

On her Instagram page, Blue Beetle star Belissa Escobedo shared what she deemed a “sappy post” about her experience working on the movie.

“Familia Reyes y La Jenny will live on forever, not just in my heart, but now in so many of yours as well,” she wrote. “This movie, this crew, this cast. It was only 4(?) months on set but I swear it felt like years had gone by with how much we went through and pushed through making this movie.”

Oscar nominee Adriana Barraza (Babel), too, posted how she was “thrilled” to “finally have the opportunity to support and promote [Blue Beetle], one of the greatest experiences of my career as an actress!”

Marquezine also shared some photos on her Instagram and promised a more “profound” message at a later time.

Blue Beetle is now available for purchase on digital platforms and on Blu-ray and DVD. The film will begin streaming on Max on November 17.
