After the Dalai Lama apologized for his actions in a highly controversial video deemed inappropriate by many and causing a public outcry, Cardi B spoke up about the dangers of predators.
The star took to Twitter to warn parents about the dangers of sexual predators. “They prey on the innocent,” Cardi wrote without referencing the Dalai Lama himself. “The ones who are most unknowing, our children. Predators could be our neighbors, our school teachers, even people wit money, power & our churches. Constantly talk with your kids about boundaries and what they shouldn’t allow people to do to them.”
For many, Cardi B’s words went down like a lead balloon, not because people didn’t agree with her opinion, but because of an Instagram Live video she posted years ago where she stated that she used to drug and rob men when she was working as an exotic dancer.
Cardi B has since clarified that the men got “twisted in the club” on their own before she robbed them. “I never put nothing on a guy’s drink,” she said, adding that if a guy wasted her time, she would go through his pockets. “People actually called me a rapist because of that.”
In an online video, Cardi B defended herself from critics calling her the “wrong messenger” on the issue of predators. “Robbing and raping is two different type of sh–s,” she said. “I’m the right messenger because I’m a f–king mom.”
Despite the pushback, there were many that supported Cardi B, which led her to thank her fans for the support.
