It looks like Selena’s widow, Chris Perez, and the Quintanilla family are in a good place. On Thursday (July 13), the guitarist posted a pair of photos he took while visiting Selena’s family in Corpus Christi, Texas.

“Made a drive to Corpus today,” Perez wrote in the caption. “Guess where I ended up? It was so good to see everyone and see the amazing operations of Q. Productions but, more importantly, catching up with Suzette and Abraham. Can’t wait to come back and visit with the fam! Good times!”

Q-Productions is a Latin music entertainment company owned by Selena’s father, Abraham Quintanilla Jr.

In the first photo, Perez is posing for a selfie with Selena’s sister, Suzette, who is throwing a peace sign. In the second photo, Perez is standing with his arm around Selena’s father and pointing at him. Quintanilla is also holding up a peace sign.

Over the last few years, Selena fans were unsure where Perez and the Quintanilla family stood with one another. In 2016, Selena’s father sued Perez for trying to produce a TV series based on his 2012 best-selling memoir, To Selena, With Love. Quintanilla argued that creating a series about Selena was in violation of an agreement Perez signed that stipulated that Quintanilla owned the rights to Selena’s image.

In 2021, Perez and the Quintanilla family resolved their legal battles. The announcement was shared on social media by both Pérez and Selena’s father. “Now that these issues are behind us, going forward, my hope, and the hope of the Quintanilla family, is for us to work together to continue to honor and celebrate the legacy of Selena,” Perez wrote.

Since Selena’s death in 1995, fans have accused Quintanilla of exploiting her for profit. He addressed the accusations in 2021.
