Danna Paola teamed up with top American DJ Steve Aoki for an epic new single “Paranoia,” released on Friday (Sept. 29).
Their collaboration is a Latine tech house banger. Living up to the song’s twisted name, Aoki supplies Paola with a wild set of beats. She sings in English and Spanish about a consuming romance that’s also giving her a bit of a rush. It’s a haunting dance track that will be perfect for Halloween season.
The music video for “Paranoia” shows Aoki and Paola recording the song in the studio, as well as performing the song together for the first time at a club in Las Vegas. The artists looked like they were having an absolute blast together.
“Paranoia” is not Paola’s first foray into EDM. In 2021, she joined forces with Swedish DJ Alesso for “Rescue Me.” Earlier this year, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike featured Paola and Ne-Yo on their song “Mexico.” Back in July, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike brought her out as a special during their set at Tomorrowland in Belgium to perform the track.
With his Dim Mak En Fuego label, Aoki has supported Latines in EDM like 2DEEP, a producer of Ecuadorian and Colombian descent. Aoki has also teamed up with many Latine music artists in his recent releases. In June, regional Mexican music star Ángela Aguilar joined him on “Invítame A Un Café.” Their song was a house music remake of the classic “La Gata Bajo la Lluvia” by late Spanish singer Rocío Dúrcal.
Paola has released a string of singles this past year, including “1Trago” and “Tenemos Que Hablar.” She also recently revealed that she is the new global ambassador for MAC Cosmetics.
