Two RBD members missed Premio Lo Nuestro’s ceremony last week (Feb. 22). Despite being nominated and later winning an award, Christopher von Uckermann and Christian Chávez were not allowed to access the awards due to not having the right tickets. The lack of organization surprised many social media users and celebrities alike.

Though the award show’s organization has yet to comment on the circumstance, two Univision – the same network the show aired on – show hosts acknowledged the situation. The next day (Feb. 23), El Gordo y La Flaca’s Lili Estefan and Raúl De Molina apologized for the mishap.

“Christian Chávez and Christopher von Uckermann experienced a very unpleasant situation. Personally, on behalf of Univision, I apologize for all this confusion because I saw them very happy,” Estefan said during the award show recap segment. “It is very important for our network to treat our guests with respect and make them feel at home. I hope this never happens again.” De Molina added that they’re taking the necessary measures to ensure this does not happen again.

The talk show hosts weren’t the only ones sharing their opinions. RBD’s former member, Alfonso Herrera, also expressed his sentiments. On Feb. 23, the Mexican actor wrote: “Que mala onda  @premiolonuestro.”

The ticket confusion was brought to light last Thursday (Feb. 22) when von Uckermann shared what happened online. “We are not going to be with you because we were given the wrong tickets, and apparently, there were no more tables. This is something that surprises me a bit. But oh well, it seems like a strange organization, and we are going to go to dinner,” the RBD singer said at the time. “But yeah, the nominees couldn’t get into the event because they didn’t have the right tickets.”

The group won the Grupo o Dúo Del Año – Pop award, which was not televised and only announced on social media.
