Two of regional Mexican music’s biggest acts have joined forces. Eslabon Armado teamed up with Peso Pluma for their “Ella Baila Sola” music video, released last Friday (Apr. 7).
Among the Gen-Z acts who have taken over regional Mexican music, Eslabon Armado and Peso Pluma are breaking records. Eslabon Armado has helped popularize the sad sierreño sound. Last year, the Mexican-American band became the first act to debut in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart with a regional Mexican music album. The Nostalgia LP appeared at No. 9 on the chart last May.
On the other hand, Peso Pluma is on fire. Last week, the Mexican rapper placed five regional Mexican songs on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart, including “La Bebé” with Yng Lvcas and “Ella Baila Sola” with Eslabon Armado.
In the latter collaboration, Eslabon Armado’s sad sierreño gets a corrido tumbado twist courtesy of Peso Pluma. The fiery track sees Eslabon Armado’s lead singer Pedro Tovar singing with Peso Pluma about a woman on the dance floor who has them enamored.
After peaking at No. 26 on the Hot 100 chart with “Ella Baila Sola,” Eslabon Armado finally released the music video for the song. With fashion inspired by The Great Gatsby movie, the band and Peso Pluma show a classier side to themselves. They take over a mansion and throw a wild house party.
Next month, Eslabon Armado will continue touring in arenas across the U.S. On July 15, the band will be performing a concert at the Crypto.com Arena in L.A. Peso Pluma kicked off his Doble P Tour in Ontario, CA, on Saturday night. Last week, Becky G released the music video for “Chanel” featuring Peso Pluma. He then unveiled the video for his latest single, “Las Morras,” with Colombian singer Blessd.
