Eva Mendes made a special appearance at Milan Fashion Week over the weekend, and her first public spotlight appearance in several years was a nod to Italian fashion and Dolce & Gabbana Glam.
Mendes donned a leopard Dolce & Gabbana Faux Fur coat from the brand’s SS23 runway show, a black corset bodysuit, and dazzling diamond-encrusted jewelry, including layered necklaces, drop earrings, and an emerald ring atop her matching leopard gloves. Mendes’ black veil and cat-eye sunnies completed the look, giving old Hollywood glam meets “Cuban at Tiffany’s,” as said by Mendes herself on Instagram.
Mendes attended Dolce & Gabbana’s FW24/25 runway show– her first fashion event in over 10 years since becoming a mother. In another Instagram post, Mendes shares this relatable caption:
“Mami’s first fashion week in over 10 years! Yup, I haven’t gone to a fashion event since I’ve been a Mama. Time flies when you’re mommying. Thanks for getting me out of the house.”
While she arrived solo, Mendes referenced Ken, as played by her husband, Ryan Gosling, as a source of inspiration for her look, along with Italian actress Sofía Loren. In Barbie, Gosling’s character Ken wears similar shades and a fur coat when confronting Barbie and Mendes also wore the shades as a subtle tribute to her partner. And in the caption of her Instagram post she wrote, “Inspo? My Ken & Sofía Loren.”
Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling have maintained their relationship relatively private, though that hasn’t stopped the couple from occasional displays of affection. Most recently, Mendes defended Gosling’s role as Ken in Barbie.
“So proud of my man. So much hate when he took on this role. So many people trying to shame him for doing it. Despite all the #Notmyken ridicule and articles written about him, he created this completely original, hilarious, heartbreaking, now iconic character and took it all the way to Oscars,” said Mendes on Instagram.
