Gera MX is teaming up with Peso Pluma for a new song. On Friday (July 7), he released a new preview of their rap song, which also features Herencia de Patrones.
In 2021, Gera MX made history with his global hit “Botella Tras Botella” featuring Christian Nodal. The genre-bending collaboration became the first regional Mexican music song to appear on the Billboard Hot 100 chart when it debuted at No. 60. Two years later and now Peso Pluma has followed in his footsteps, placing counting corrido hits on the same chart. Last week, he debuted seven songs from his Génesis album on the Hot 100 chart. Now Gera MX and Peso Pluma will be working together.
In his Instagram stories, Gera MX released a preview of “Feria En El Sobre” featuring Peso Pluma and corridos tumbados group Herencia de Patrones. In the hip-hop song, Peso Pluma flexes his rap skills alongside Gera MX. Peso Pluma sings about proudly being bélico while name-checking L.A. Lakers star LeBron James. The preview of their fiery collaboration sounds very promising.
On Friday, Gera MX released his new album Mustang 65. The LP includes his trap love song “Extrañándote” featuring Argentine singer María Becerra. He also teamed up with Colombian rapper Nanpa Básico for “Prohibida.” Another rising star in the Mexican hip-hop scene, Opyi, featured on “Cara Tapada.” The addition of the Peso Pluma collaboration will finish off the album’s tracklist next month when it drops.
“Feria En El Sobre” with Peso Pluma and Herencia de Patrones will be released on Aug. 3. Peso Pluma already has more new music on the way. On July 13, he will release his collaboration “Quema” with Colombian reggaetonero Ryan Castro. Last month, he added the norteño collaboration “Tulum” with Grupo Frontera to the deluxe edition of his album Génesis.
