Diana Flores has made history by becoming the first flag football player to be part of the exhibition at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.

The captain and quarterback of the Mexican Women’s National Flag Football Team now has two items in the Hall of Fame collection, both from the NFL’s Emmy-award-winning commercial, “Run with It,” that Flores starred in for Super Bowl LVII.

The items going into the Hall of Fame are the jersey worn by Flores in the TV spot and the football she carried, which is signed by tennis legend Billie Jean King and New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner, who were also part of the commercial.

In case you missed it, the ad features Flores running from a football arena through the city as everyone she comes into contact with attempts to capture one of the flags hooked onto a belt around her waist.

“I’m honored to have my jersey become a part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame collection, alongside NFL Legends and football stars I greatly admire,” Flores said in a statement. “This is so meaningful not just for me personally, but also for Flag football overall. It’s hugely symbolic in showing football is for everyone, especially women and girls.”

Marissa Solis, the NFL’s Senior Vice President of Global Brand and Consumer Marketing, described the addition of Diana Flores’ items into the Hall of Fame as a “tangible recognition” of the sport of flag football.

“‘Run With It’ was a historic moment for the NFL, as we took our biggest platform of the year to feature not just flag football, but specifically how women are changing the game and inspiring generations of athletes to come,” Solis said in a statement. “Flag football is here to stay and will only continue to grow.”
