Peso Pluma and Eslabon Armado’s “Ella Baila Sola” is one of the year’s most recognized songs. The latest testament? On Oct. 20, the Italian rock band Måneskin covered the hit track during their show at the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City.
Fans were thrilled to hear Damiano David echo Peso Pluma’s raspy vocals on the música mexicana hit at the band’s Rush Tour stop in Mexico City. The crowd sang the acoustic version of the popular song back at the Italian rock stars. One of the most outstanding components of the cover was that the Italian singer-songwriter embodied the song’s signature trumpet sounds with his mouth.
Fans have been buzzing online about the unexpected cover. “Maneskin performing ‘ella baila sola’ by peso pluma. Pay attention at the end [where he’s] making the sound of the trumpets. Suddenly I like this song,” a social media user said.
Other fans were pleasantly shocked about the cover. A fan wrote: “This is so fire 😭 Maneskin covering Ella Baila Sola in Mexico City is the version I didn’t know I needed.” Another social media user commented: “Maneskin covering ‘Ella Baila Sola’ is the most surreal thing I’ve experienced in a long time.”
The band was full of surprises. Besides playing their popular hits like “Beggin,’” the original song by the Four Seasons, and “HONEY (ARE U COMING?),” Måneskin also covered another hit song. They also performed an electrifying, reconstructed version of “HUMBLE” by Kendrick Lamar.
Moreover, it looks like David is overall embracing the Latine community. On Oct. 19, the Italian hitmaker also appeared as Anitta’s love interest in her latest music video for “MIL VECES.” “This video is really sexy! Sexy, dynamic, and it has a beautiful aesthetic… working with Damiano, who is endearing and has become a true friend, was incredible. I loved the end result and hope everyone likes it,” the Brazilian pop star said about working with the rock band’s frontman.
