Feid and Yandel took over the Miami River near Brickell in Florida with a surprise pop-up concert last night (May 14). The Colombian superstar and the reggaeton OG drew in hundreds of fans, which led to the local police stepping in and shutting down the show.
Last month, Feid teamed up with Yandel to release their joint Manifesting 20-05 EP. After the success of their global hit “Yandel 150,” the two reggaeton superstars joined forces once again for a full project. One of the biggest hits from the EP is called “Brickell,” which is named after the famous financial district in Miami. That song has amassed over 29 million streams on Spotify.
To celebrate the Manifesting 20-05 EP, Feid invited his fans to join him at Miami River next to Brickell. Feid was cruising on a yacht with Yandel. His team shut down the bridge between Brickell and the downtown area, and many boats filled with fans came to join them. Feid’s call on social media to come out also led to hundreds of fans lining up along the bay for a pop-up performance. They sang a few songs from the EP, including “Brickell.”
The commotion Feid and Yandel caused at the Miami River caught the attention of the local authorities. They were only able to get through performing three songs before the Miami police got involved. A video from the event went viral of a police boat pulling up alongside Feid’s yacht. Andy Martínez, Yandel’s manager, told Billboard that the pop-up concert was shut down because of the heavy traffic it caused. Feid’s team did secure the proper permits, but in order to keep the massive crowds safe, it required a lot of police resources.
Earlier this week, Feid joined Young Miko for her performance of “Offline” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. He is currently performing concerts in arenas across the U.S. on his Ferxxocalipsis Tour.
