Two generations of The Hunger Games movie franchise came together recently when Rachel Zegler (West Side Story) and Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence (Mother!) met at the Christian Dior show in Paris on Tuesday (September 26).
Zegler stars in the lead role of the upcoming prequel, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Lawrence played the lead character in four films from 2012 to 2015, which pulled in nearly $3 billion at the worldwide box office.
In a couple of videos from the event, Zegler can be seen standing up and talking enthusiastically to a seated Lawrence who listened intently and conversed with her.
In another video, the two are seen posing for a photo together.
As they posed, Lawrence said something funny that caused Zegler to throw her head back and laugh twice.
Both Zegler and Lawrence had front-row seats to the fashion show. Joining them for the close-up look at Dior’s 2024 Spring-Summer looks were a host of other actors, including Jenna Ortega (Wednesday), Anya Taylor-Joy (The Menu), Elizabeth Debicki (Tenet), and singer-songwriter Rosalía.
Before the show began, Taylor-Joy introduced her husband, who was sitting behind her in the second row, to Ortega and Rosalía. “Ese es mi marido,” she said. Both Ortega and Rosalía shook his hand. Ortega responded with, “Nice to see you again.”
Once the show began, all the women watched intently as the models took the runway to present Dior’s latest designs. We’re sure all the celebrities were making mental notes about which looks they’d like to see themselves wearing at their next awards show.
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, which stars Rachel Zegler, premieres at theaters nationwide on November 17, 2023.
