RBD is finally back with new music! Today (Aug. 17), the Mexican pop group released their new single, “Cerquita de Ti” just ahead of their massive reunion tour—and the nostalgia is so real.
The new track features five original members, Dulce María, Maite Perroni, Christian Chávez, Christoper von Uckermann, and Anahí. Together, they are ready to reclaim their spot at the top of Latine pop music. Fans are in for a treat as RBD blends their iconic pop medley with new sounds. The group helps us tap into our feels over a dembow beat singing in Spanish, “Although we are far away, and you feel sad. You know that I’ll always be close to you.”
After 15 years, RBD is not only giving their fans a massive comeback, but they’re ready to gain an entire new generation of listeners. Fans flooded the RBD social media pages when the new single was announced. One fan commented, “I have no words to express the feeling inside of me for being able to witness my favorite band live🥹✨🤍I LOVE YOU RBD❤️”.
Earlier this month, the band came together for Chávez’s 40th Barbie-inspired birthday bash in Los Angeles, CA. Fans also bombarded the group photo on Instagram, commenting on how impactful the group has been to their lives. One wrote in Spanish, “You guys have made me happy since I was 17 years old, thank you for returning.
This marks the official beginning of their reunion trek across Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, and the U.S., Soy Rebelde Tour. RBD will be making history at the BMO Stadium in Los Angeles and Estadio Olimpico Nilton Santos in Colombia as the first act in history to perform four shows on a single tour in those stadiums. In addition, they’re also making history in their home country, Mexico, as they will become the first act in history to perform six shows on a single tour at the Foro Sol. They even added a date at the emblematic Estadio Azteca. The tour starts Aug. 25 in El Paso, TX.
