Colman Domingo is rumored to be heading to the MCU. The Belize-Guatemalan actor, who was recently nominated for his first Golden Globe Award in the Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama category for his performance in the movie Rustin and who also stars in The Color Purple musical will reportedly replace Jonathan Majors as Kang in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Majors was fired by Marvel after he was found guilty of reckless assault and harassment in a domestic violence trial in NYC. The actor appeared as He Who Remains, aka Kang the Conqueror in Phases 4, 5, and 6 of the MCU. He first made his debut in Season 1 of Loki in 2021, and returned for the second season of the show, though he mostly appeared as another Kang variant, Victory Timely. In February of 2023, he also played Kang in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

Kang was set to be the Big Bad of the MCU going forward, with the next Avengers movie set to be called Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. The movie even had a release date in the calendar: May 1, 2026.

Domingo has won rave reviews for both his performance in Rustin and his performance in The Color Purple – two movies that are expected to generate major awards buzz. He previously won an Emmy for his role in Euphoria and he donned the cowl and the cape, figuratively, voicing Batman on the Spotify audio series The Riddler: Secrets in the Dark.

The reception to the rumored casting of Domingo has been swift and in favor.

And it seems like fate as Colman Domingo has previously expressed wanting to join the MCU.
