Bad Gyal has upped the girl power of her hit song “Chulo.” Last night (June 23), the Spanish rapper released the music video for the “Chulo Pt. 2” remix featuring Tokischa and Young Miko.
Bad Gyal is a rising star from Catalonia. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with Latine artists like Rauw Alejandro, María Becerra, Mariah Angeliq, and most recently, Karol G. She featured on the song “Kármika” alongside Sean Paul on the Colombian superstar’s Mañana Será Bonito album. Now she is teaming up with Tokischa and Young Miko for a new version of her viral hit “Chulo.”
“I love how natural this project came to be,” Bad Gyal said in a statement. “‘Chulo Pt. 2’ is a very organic collaboration between the three of us. Both Tokischa and Young Miko gave this song a new meaning and transformed it into a very original and perfect continuation, straying away from the typical remix.”
Bad Gyal, who is known for her strong support of the LGBTQ+ community, joins forces with two queer artists for “Chulo Pt. 2.” Young Miko identifies as queer, and Tokischa is openly bisexual. As Bad Gyal mentioned in her statement, they transform her hypnotic song into an anthem that speaks to their experiences. Though Bad Gyal originally sings about an attractive man, Young Miko switches that up in her guest verse and sings to a woman that has her full attention. With Tokischa and Young Miko in the mix, they turn up the heat on Bad Gyal’s bedroom banger.
The music video for “Chulo Pt. 2” was directed by Artasans and shot in Barcelona. Bad Gyal is shown having a wild girls’ night out with Tokischa and Young Miko. She is currently performing in music festivals across Spain. Bad Gyal recently hit the stages at Primavera Sound and Sónar Barcelona.
