Enzo Vogrincic and his days of celebrating Society of the Snow (La Sociedad de la Nieve) are not quite done. The actor, who played Numa Turcatti in the film, which tells the real-life story of the crash of the Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571 in the Andes in 1972, won the Premio Platino Audience Award for Best Performance by a Male Actor.
The Platino Awards Gala, in which Vogrincic is nominated for Best Performance by a Male Actor, will take place on Saturday, April 20th, at Gran Tlachco Theater in Riviera Maya, Mexico.
Remezcla was there during his acceptance speech for the audience award, where Vogrincic thanked the audience in Spanish who “in the case of this film really embraced us, and it was really a massive thing that they constantly sent us the story of how they related to the film.”
Vogrincic also reflected on the film and filmmaking in general, saying that it’s “incredible when a movie that is a lie touches something real in whoever sees it, it seems to me to be the most spectacular act of magic there is, that through a big lie, one finds truth.”
The actor also remarked on how he’s been thanking people since he started on his Society of the Snow (La Sociedad de la Nieve) journey, so he would continue doing just that. “Thank you to everyone who watched the film, to J, for making this crazy movie and with the entire team making it happen, to my friends from the mountain, without whom there is no movie, and thank you to those who taught me how to say thank you, my parents.”
